There are those times where I would wake up from a dream and I would feel this weight on my heart, like a sadness or a longing of romance. Usually that happened after I dreamt of a guy who may/may not be acting all prince charming where I will be romantically involved with him or not. Nothing graphic. At most, just kissing.
Good thing I'm the type of person that can remember my dreams. It disappears eventually and the odd parts that are hard to explain will eventually disappear but the overall idea is still there. Here's one I recently dreamt of.
---
I came home from Indonesia and I'm at this hotel-like place with a very complicated elevator. Somehow my ex-crush is there, let's call him R. The me in my dream knows that he's one of my friend so I greeted him like how you would a friend that you haven't seen in a long time. But R was acting as if we haven't been separated in fact, he went and held my hand. Even I was confused as to why he was doing that. It felt like R thinks that we were together.
I thought to myself, "okay, maybe something happened somewhere and somehow we ended up dating. I'll just play along. It is a dream afterall." Yes, I actually knew that it was a dream so I played along. Basically what happened, is that R was my boyfriend, and he was escorting me home at this hotel where my room is only reachable from this particular elevator. R was being a decent boyfriend too, he would come close to me, smile, put his head against mine, I'd hold his hand, he'd wrap his arms around me and all that.
However, somehow, we got dragged into a mafia party and for some reason, we seemed to have pissed the mafia boss off and now we are being chased around while we try to blend and ride the elevator to get out of the hotel.
This is the part where it gets all fuzzy because all I can remember is hotel, lobby and exiting the place. Then suddenly R isn't with me and I was lost... Then I can't remember... and I was awake...
---
When I wake up, I would try to go back to sleep and replay the dream. That's actually the best part because I get to change the story, add my own version and mix them up. And since I like writing stories, this is the thing that keeps me from getting up and can actually make me upset if someone's bothering my train of thoughts but of course I won't show it especially if that person is my boyfriend :p
It's one of those rare moments that I'd like to enjoy while that odd feeling is still in my heart.. Can you blame me?

Weekend Trip
This weekend was a birthday trip of a friend and he invited us to go to a place called Danasan in Danao, Philippines. So we meet up at Jolibee and drove several hours to reach the place. I was actually looking forward to it since we'll be doing caving and trekking and waterfalls. I love doing those things!
However, I did not expect the cave to be painfully sharp and challenging. It was one of those underwater cave of course, so we had to wear a life jacket, helmet and some even got one of those head flashlight thingies. Once you're inside, you have to hold on to this rope because it was pretty deep. Just a few splashes away, you already had to climb up with the help of the guide and that was pretty hard to do if you're not used to it.
Another hard one to pass is the drop and roll part. We had to lie down and roll slowly since the cave path is so slim. That area was pretty painful because the surface wasn't smooth at all. I got my share of bruise from there especially my butt. But once we reached the end of the cave, it was so huge and very.. cave-y.. I can't really explain it nor can I put up a picture because I suck like that..
Then we had to go back to where we came from.. One of my friend had plenty of bleeding scratches by the time we were outside. We were all telling her to put on band aids and stuff but she kept on insisting she's fine because she's used to being clumsy like that. Of course, we ignored her and sprayed alcohol and slapped some band aids anyway.
The ride to the waterfall was pretty tiring and hurtful. We were all bunched up in a .. huge thing that you'd see attached to the back of a truck but with wheels. Then a tractor just pulls it and we'd go through all these rough hills and rough roads. I was shooting for a friend so I wasn't able to hold on and every time there was a bump, I pretty much hit it with my bones and it hurt real bad.
But the whole travel felt like it was worth it when I saw the stream and the waterfall. I felt like Pocahontas. I jumped here and there, tread through water just to be able to reach the waterfall. It was beautiful and, like any waterfalls, there was that place where you can go cannonball at. I didn't jump, I just swam and felt like I was in the wild, enjoying every second of it. It was very fun! Too bad we weren't able to stay that long because it was getting late. I was sad.. But in the end it was still a fun experience.
The next day, all I did was zip lining and horseback riding. The saddle they put on the horse wasn't so tight so I kept worrying when I leaned too much on the side. Especially since we were passing by a no road area. The horse I was riding on looked like it was tired and the guide just pulled it without seeming like he cared about the health of the horse. Poor dear... Now I want a horse...
Overall, it was a fun trip despite being sick and alone-like.. I did get to see shooting stars because they set up tents outside and we all put our mattress while hanging out, sharing ghosts stories, and all that. It makes me sad to think that it might be the last thing I'll be doing with the bunch since I'll be leaving soon.. Boohoo..

Boy Bands, Girl Bands, Goodbye Originality
I've been in the Philippines for 3 years now and I'm dragging the days where I'll have to go home.. which is soon. I should start planning on how to get all my stuff out from here. I'll miss my apartment here.. It's quite cheap for the comfort of the place. Don't think there will be any better apartment that I'll find for such price back home.
When I decided to browse videos on youtube, I saw on the "suggestion" box was a channel called standupcomedyindo and one of the guys was talking about a boy band group called "smash" so I was curious and I searched it. I'll regret it forever...
SM*SH which, according to wikipedia, stands for Seven Men as Seven Heroes. Oh dear god. Of course this pushed me to to look up on at least one of their music video and I did.
Mind you, the kind of laugh I had was the type that's confused on whether it's crying or laughing. It was so horribly funny and sad at the same time. It just made me not want to go home..
Curiosity kills the cat or stabs you in the heart and eyes when I decide to go further. I typed "boy band indonesia" on google search and out came a list of boy band / girl band there are.
I can say I only liked 1 group which is "Kilau" because they're the least at trying to be K-pop / cute. They're experienced dancers that danced for big pop artist in Indonesia so they're not "young" and "fresh" and used as dolls to make money. Too bad the music video I saw was of a cover song they did. But after seeing the original songs that the other group did, I'd still choose Kilau any time.
I put pictures of them and sopa might bust me.. Then again, who cares?

It's not that they're comedic.. it's just that.. the video is filled with a bunch of highschool / young looking boys with "white skin", some with bleached hair, singing about love. It's so unoriginal, copying K-pop, with it's occasional English sentence and don't forget the rap part.
That, I think, is the best part because I laughed and played it over and over again.Mind you, the kind of laugh I had was the type that's confused on whether it's crying or laughing. It was so horribly funny and sad at the same time. It just made me not want to go home..

Bend The Metal
As I was looking through my notebook, I noticed that I have a tendency to write short bits of sentence, along with the date it was written. Usually it involves ideas for songs or for stories where story ideas will be numerous short idea points / plot points. One of the things I saw earlier was about a song idea. It commented on how I liked the sound of the word "bend the metal".
Going back through the folders in my memory box in my head, I remember that I wrote this when I was buying a battery for my lomo camera. I had a conversation with the person I was with and he said "bend the metal" and it sounded nice so I wrote it down.
It was already late at night, for me, though maybe not for some, and I was supposed to be sleeping soon since I have work in a couple of hours. In the end, I picked up my guitar and started to find a way to make a song out of it.
And so far, here are the lyrics that I got:
---
Though you are thinking that you'll never go so far,
Though you are saying that you're happy where you are.
Don't doubt yourself. No matter, no matter who you are.
Don't you care what the people expect you to be
Don't you dare be the one they try to make you be
Coz you set your way..
Like a hero in the movies..
Believe in yourself, be strong
You can be anyone
Bend the metal, you're strong
You can do anything
Coz you are who you are;
superhero of the day, who's to say..
You can bend the metal..
---
I tried to upload a video of me singing it.. but it seems like i can't.. something about me having to post it on youtube first then upload it. So i said, no. I don't want it on my youtube, ergo, I was gonna post it here. Technology and human mind can .. be .. have .. smash-them-all-together-and-go-back-to-stone-age kind of effect ..

And So I Start
My dear little public diary,
So i finally got myself into getting serious about this whole music thing. I mean why not? I have the product, I have the tools, I have the technology so why not I combine all these things and BAM SLAM a video tune.
It's good to finally push myself into staring at the camera screen and voice out some tralalas. I may need to work out on my speech thus why I shall not go there just yet. I'll stick with typing. I like seeing my words better than hearing them. In due time, though, I shall hear them unmelodiously. Is that a made up word?
I've been listing in my head about what songs / music vids I have finished so that I can put them on youtube. Too bad I don't have internet connection at home or this all will be so much easier. I think I'll go back to my notebook and list them one more time.
